Pre-Prohibition Whiskey Label - A. Ehrlich & Bro

Ambrose Ehrlich (born around 1853) operated a wholesale grocery at 113-115 West Bay Street (now Ruth’s Chris Steak House) from the late 1800’s through at least the 1920’s. He later moved to New York, but remained president of A. Ehrlich & Brothers while Vice President Albert V. Ehrlich ran local operations.

Prohibition began on January 17th, 1920, when the Voldstead Act went into effect.
